How is Alt_Chiangmai different from a hotel or a hostel?
- It’s a living and working space designed specifically for remote workers, local independent entrepreneurs and digital nomads
- It’s a place where you can meet interesting people around the world and share your experiences
- It’s a springboard to get settled in Chiang Mai or learn how to create a business.
Is there parking?
- Yes, parking is available on a first come, first served basis.
Can I smoke in Alt_Chiangmai?
While smoking is not permitted within the coworking or coliving spaces, there is an area at the front of the building that can be used.
What are your current COVID restrictions?
How do I get to Alt_Chiangmai from the airport?
- We are conveniently located beside the West Gate (Suan Dok Gate) of the Old City, a 6-minute drive from the Arrivals terminal. You can easily get a Taxi or Songthaew (shared vehicle) as you exit the terminal building. However, if you wish to use a Taxi app, such as Thailand's most popular one, Grab, you will need to walk outside the airport carpark to the main road. These types of taxis are not permitted to do pickups within the airport grounds.

How fast is your wifi internet speed?
- We use the fastest packages available in Chiang Mai, and use two separate companies (TOT & 3BB) to ensure reliably fast speeds, no matter your requirements.
Can you provide me with an invoice for my company?
Yes, we can provide you with an invoice. Just let us know in advance so we can prepare it for you. Otherwise we provide standard receipts for all purchases at Alt_ChiangMai.

BOOKING & PAYMENT:
Why is coliving minimum stay set at 6 nights?
Community is a big part of life at Alt_ChiangMai, so in order to nurture this, we prefer to have members with us for a longer period.
Can I rent a room on a monthly basis?
Definitely! We love having people with us for longer periods, as this adds so much to the sense of community, and helps members create lasting connections with each other.
Can I make a group booking?
We would love that! We have 27 rooms here, many containing queen-size beds for couples. You can contact us at connect@altcoliving.com so we can assist you.
If we are a couple staying in one room, does the price include coworking for both of us?
During the booking process you will have the opportunity to select 1 or 2 people for the room. The prices will adjust to reflect your decision, and coworking membership (and all other benefits) will be included for all.
COLIVING:
Do you have an extra person charge?
Yes, we have an extra person. Please email to us for the details.
If I arrive early can I leave my bags at Alt_Chiangmai?
Yes, we have a secure room to store your luggage until it is time to check-in.
Do you offer airport pickup?
Since we are located so close to the airport, and transport is so quick and easy, we do not currently offer a pickup service. However, if you need advice on how to get to us, we have provided full details in the ‘General Info’ section above.
What time is check-in / check-out? ( 2pm / 12 noon )
We have a standard 2pm check-in, and 12pm check-out.
Who lives in Alt_Chiangmai?
We have remote workers from many different backgrounds staying with us, but the one thing they have in common is a love of community and an appreciation of the ‘home away from home’ environment that Alt_ChiangMai and our members provide.
What does a coliving membership include?
As well as a beautifully appointed room and a variety of workspaces, you also have access to our communal spaces. Kick back in the evening with the other residents and watch Netflix and play video games, or cook a meal together. During the day you can participate in activities and events, and really make the most out of being part of our vibrant community. Membership also includes discounts at our cafe, so you can fuel that productivity.
Do I need to pay a security deposit?
For stays of less than 28 days, your card details at the time of booking are sufficient. For stays of 28 days or more, a one-month deposit is required and will be returned during the checkout process on your final day with us.
Is it possible to get to know the residents before I move in?
This is a great idea! You can join our slack/facebook group here, introduce yourself to the current residents, and make connections before you arrive. This is what coliving life at Alt_ChiangMai is all about.
Is Alt_Chiangmai pet friendly?
As much as we love our furry friends, we do need to keep other members allergies/phobias into consideration, as well as the cleanliness of the space. Therefore we do not allow pets in the Coliving or Coworking areas.
Can I host parties/events in Alt_Chiangmai during my stay?
We love events and social gatherings, so please feel free to approach the Community Facilitator with your idea, and if it is something that will benefit the members they will be happy to liaise with you to bring it to life.
Can I invite friends to hang at Alt_Chiangmai as a member?
- The Coliving section is a home away from home for the residents, so we prefer to have only residents in this area. However, if you would like us to make an exception, contact the Community Facilitator first and they will check with the other residents.

Do you have services and amenities like a hotel such as daily housekeeping, toiletries or breakfast to serve?
- Since life at Alt_ChiangMai is closer to living at home than in a hotel, our services reflect that.
- We provide weekly room cleaning.
- There is a large kitchen and dining area for residents to cook their meals together.
- In order to remain eco-friendly, we do not provide the small plastic bottles of toiletries found in some hotels. However, we can provide you with a sample of the local organic toiletries on sale at our kiosk. If you enjoy them, you can help us support this local business.
Booking policy & Cancellation
Booking for equal to/more than 29 nights stay:
- Booking confirmed longer than 90 days prior check-in
- Requires a 50% deposit upon confirmation of booking.
- Deposit CANNOT be refunded if cancellation is made within 30 days prior to check-in
- The remaining 50% will be charged 30 days prior check-in.
- Booking confirmed between 30-90 days prior check-in
- Requires a non-refundable 50% deposit upon confirmation of booking.
- The remaining 50% will be charged 30 days prior check-in.
- Booking request WITHIN 30 days prior check-in
- Requires a non-refundable full payment to confirm booking.
Booking for less than 29 nights stay :
- Booking request MORE THAN 30 days prior check-in
- Requires a 50% deposit to confirm booking.
- Deposit CANNOT be refunded if cancellation is made within 30 days prior to check-in
- The remaining 50% will be charged 2 weeks prior check-in.
- Booking request WITHIN 30 days prior check-in
- Require a non-refundable full payment to confirm booking.
COWORKING:
Is the coworking space 24 hours?
Yes, the Coworking Space is accessible 24/7 for Residents and Coworking Package Members. Those holding Day/Week passes can access the space from 9am - 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
What kitchen facilities are available?
The Office Pantry contains a full size-fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, water filter, and cupboards to store your food items.
Is there free tea & coffee?
Yes, there are free tea bags and instant coffee for you in the pantry.
Are there lockers available?
Yes. Lockers are included in the cold desk monthly memberships, and are available to rent for all other passes. The reception will be more than happy to help you out with this.
Do I need to book a Phone Booth in advance?
You do not need to book the Phone Booths. If one is empty, it’s yours!
Can I book a meeting room, and what is the cost?
My job requires a lot of concentration; will I be able to focus in the coworking space?
We hear you loud and clear! While we know some love the hum of a busy room, there are those who need peace and quiet. With this in mind we have created a ‘Quiet Zone’ to help you stay focused and productive.
Are there printing services available?
Yes. You can have your Black & White, or Colour printing done at reception for a minimal cost.
Do you have a monitor I can rent?
Absolutely. You can rent one at reception.

Refund Eligibilities
If a refund is deemed eligible for any of our services, the refund amount will be processed, excluding any fees charged by the credit card or payment platform. Please note that these fees can range between 4% to 5% depending on the payment method used.
